Court Booking Rules
Court Booking
All court booking will be done online via the Club website.
Courts will not be available when coaching and team matches are taking place.
Coaching and team matches will always take precedence, even if members have somehow managed to book a court at the same time
Priority booking
Please note that the following bookings will always take priority:
- Monday and Thursday mornings from 9:00am to 11:00am, Tuesday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 and Sunday mornings from 10:00am – 12:00 noon, where all members may join in the ‘mix-in’
- Men’s and Ladies Doubles evening team practices for Members who wish to play in teams. The chosen evenings in the week vary from time to time and Members are advised to check the schedule
- Sunday afternoons from 4:00pm to 6:00pm for Juniors (2 courts only)
- Coaching at various times – information is displayed on the website and on the noticeboard
- Other pre-booked sessions will occur for matches at various times during the Winter and Summer League seasons
Important information
Courts are booked online in advance via the Club website.
All courts are available for use by members and the Club’s designated Coaching team.
At weekends and after 6pm on weekdays, the maximum number of courts that can be booked by Coaches or for team play/practices is three.
In order to allow fair access for all members who want to play and to help ensure the booking procedure operates smoothly, members are asked to adhere to the following:
- Courts may be booked up to a maximum of 14 days in advance
- Courts may be booked each day for up to 2 hours at a time
- If a booked court is no longer required, it should be cancelled as soon as possible. This is done by clicking the “Click here to manage your bookings” link in the confirmation email you will have received when booking the court, or use the 'View my bookings' link on the court bookings page
- The Committee routinely monitor court bookings to ensure the above are being followed. Any member abusing the procedure with repeated cancellations, non-attendance or excessive bookings may have their booking rights suspended by the Committee
Members can bring guests to play but guests need to sign in and pay a guest fee of £5 per person. The same person may only be brought in 5 times and then should become a member.
No member can introduce a guest whose membership has been terminated or suspended.
Only correct tennis shoes should be worn and all rubbish should be removed from the courts. If you wish to play in a team, please contact one of the Coaches and they will put you in touch with the appropriate team captain.
Court Booking for Non-members
Members of the public may book Court 1 (caged court) if available, the rate for which is £10 per hour.
To book please contact either Dan Potter on 07834470940 or Jane Gilmore on 07811 760709
(payment to be placed in an envelope marked with your name and ‘visitors fees’ and placed in the letter box to right of the gate)
Health and Safety
The Management Committee make every effort to maintain the Club premises and courts in good repair and safe for use.
Please report any problems you come across by putting details in the Defect Report Book which you will find in the kitchen, straight away.
Playing conditions vary from day to day. If you find that the courts are slippery for any reason, please don’t take a chance – don’t play.
The courts must not be used in frosty conditions or if exceptionally hot weather makes the playing surface soft.
Chairs must not be taken on to the playing surface.
Children under 11 years must be supervised by an adult at all times and the club cannot accept responsibility for any child left unaccompanied for whatever reason, and this applies equally before the start and end of a coaching session.
