Open Day / Charity Day - 22nd June

Our chosen charity this year LOROS a very local and worthy charity of which many of you I am sure are familiar with.

We are asking all our members to support us on the day as we have a huge variety of events both on and off court.

We are also opening our doors to any new members so please invite along friends, neighbours, work colleagues to sample free tennis and look at our fabulous facilities! You can book a place at the Open Day at https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/opendays or just join in on the day.

Amongst the events are wheelchair tennis, junior competitions, fastest serve competition and a senior’s fancy dress tournament. Stalls, raffles and auctions will all be on site as well as an all day BBQ.

For members we have a £5 entry draw throughout the month of June for a free membership for next year - entry box is available in the foyer.

We are also looking for both help on the day and with prizes for this worthwhile cause please speak to Alex, Chris, Lisa or Gill with any type of prize or support you can give. Or email Chris via cdh.crew@ntlworld.com

Thank you in anticipation and lets all have a fun day showing off our great club.

All Members and Match Players

As the weather improves and we are all playing more tennis, plus with the match season now in full swing, it’s a good opportunity to remind everyone that the Club's Code Of Conduct and Child Protection policies require all members to show respect to everyone both on and off court.

To guarantee that Ashby Castle always creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for everyone playing both social and competitive tennis, the Club relies on your support to achieve this goal. The Officers and Committee wish you all an enjoyable season.

Men’s Captains report

As we rapidly approach the half way point in the Leicester leagues a review of the teams:

Men’s 1 - Two strong home results with wins, however away form has not been as impressive. Currently in 4th therefore mid-table.

Men’s 2 - Using a wide group of players from juniors to old faithful and again a mix bag of results but two good home performances.

Men’s 3 - The reverse of the above with two wins away from home but two home losses the team are now settled in their higher league

Men’s 4 - Excellent start and undefeated so far this season

Vets 1 - Great start good win one from one

Vets 2 - Played two (one epic match) and enjoyable tennis but as yet await their first win
