Ashby Town Tournament

The annual town tournament started today (Sunday 11th) and runs until Saturday 17th August. Junior events will be played during the day with senior matches starting each evening from 6pm. This year we have a particularly high standard entry, the bar will be open and all spectators are welcome. Finals day will be Saturday with matches (and the BBQ!) starting from 10am. 2 courts will be available for club night on Tuesday and Friday.

Court Surface Change – Meeting Tuesday 20th August 7:30

Members will have noticed that courts 3&4 need resurfacing in the near future and the committee have been investigating the possibility of changing the surface. Due to the location of the courts the options are; continue with the current artificial grass, or change to porous acrylic.
In order to keep members informed, and find out the general feeling of the club, Tony Aitchison, of Replay Maintenance, has been invited to make a presentation on the subject on Tuesday 20th August at 7:30. Please do join us to find out more (and the bar will be open!).

Fun Tournament

The final fun tournament for this summer is taking place on Saturday 24th August starting at 5pm.

It is open to all adult members and costs £5 per person which includes 2 hours of organised tennis plus supper afterwards.

Prizes are awarded to the winner and runner up.

The top four players from the season as per the championship table will be announced and they will play in a final shoot out during the club tournament in September for the trophy.
