Promotion for Ladies 1st and 2nd teams

Ladies Doubles Leicestershire County Winter League
At last, all matches have been played with numerous weather delayed rearranged fixtures to complete before the end of Jan.
Ladies 1
The ladies first team have played well all season but with 3 teams vying for the top spot, Belvoir Vale 1 had to win by at least 6-2 to top the league and gain promotion to the lofty heights of division 1.
Not only did they win but they played extremely well away at David Lloyd Narborough winning 8-0. Captained by Julia Young, Reinette Boucher, Emma Atkins and Carolyn Park have sealed the promotion to the Winter League division 1. Congratulations to the team and to everybody who turned out for the side in some chilly conditions!
Other first team players are Jo Goodberry, Dru Redman and Penni Wray.

Julia Young/ Carolyn Park 6-1, 6-4, 7-5, 6-3
Ladies 2
It's equally great news for the the Ladies 2nd team who also topped their division and have been promoted into Division 4! What great work ladies, with Penni Wray at the helm they won 90% of sets played.
The 2nd team players are: Fran Hansford, Dru Redman, Wendy Bland, Emma Atkins, Debbie Clarke, Anita Bartys, Priscilla Godsmark, Rachael Holliday, Rachel Lovegrove, Helen Towns.
Ladies 3
For the first time Belvoir Vale TC have a Ladies 3rd team, captained by Sarah Hartland.
Many of the ladies haven't played competitive matches before and having been coached on a regular basis by our club coach Charlie, they are definitely on the way up and looking forward to next season.
The third team players: Sarah Hartland, Elizabeth Ash, Anita Bartys, Barbara Dry, Sophie Fish, Carole Fishwick, Priscilla Godsmark, Samatha Griffin, Sarah Hartland, Margaret Heafford, Rachael Holliday, Rachel Lovegrove, Lucy Paine, Helen Towns, Svetlana Willmott.
Well done to all the ladies teams on a very successful season this year and looking forward to the next one. A big thanks goes out to Linda White for organising all the matches and to Charlie excellent coaching!
